Arkar, Born in one of the most beautiful cities in in the world - Myanmar, but as we all do, I took its beauties for granted and tried to find more beauties around the world.
Why photograph? For me it's simply an extension of the natural impulse to explore the larger world. Travel on the other hand allows us to discover new places with new atmospheres, smells, tastes & sounds. It allows us to meet other people with different lives, opinions, experiences or customs, just to let us realise that nothing is just black and white, that there might be visible or hidden reason for everything people do and just because we don't understand something today it doesn't mean we won't understand it tomorrow. Wherever I went I always had a camera in hand, taking snapshots to document these experiences and explorations. Gradually, over time, a shift occurred and a curiosity crept in: How can I more fully capture the essence and feeling of being alive and engaged in the larger world? Through this simple question I have begun to acquire a knowledge concerning the art and process of making photographs.
